Frequently Asked Questions

I lost a tooth, how can you help?

Here at Family Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry, Dr. Grubb offers several tooth replacement options, like dental implants and bridges, so you don’t have to go another day hiding your smile.

Dental implants are a permanent, natural-looking solution to replace any number of damaged or missing teeth. They’re surgically fixed to your jaw for maximum support, so you don’t have to worry about them slipping out of place. Best of all, dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that promotes healthy jaw bone growth and matches the ook and feel of your natural teeth.

For patients seeking a more affordable solution, dental bridges are a great way to restore missing teeth and enhance your overall appearance. Bridges work by fusing beautiful, porcelain crowns into the area of the missing tooth. It’s painless, doesn’t require recovery time, and provides a strong, durable foundation for surrounding teeth.

What services can be paid for with CareCredit?

CareCredit is accepted by over 200,000 healthcare providers nationwide. This financing solution can cover deductibles and different types of treatments that aren’t typically covered by leading insurance companies. CareCredit can be used to cover the cost of certain cosmetic procedures, veterinary expenses, dentistry services, and more.

Upon approval, your  CareCredit card is available to use immediately, even without the physical card in hand. Remember to keep up with your personalized payment plan each month to avoid any penalty fees.

Do you charge for missed appointments?

If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, there’s no charge for missed appointments. Otherwise, you’ll be charged a $40 late fee for each appointed hour. If you’re running late, be sure to contact our office by calling (410) 939-5800.

Why is it important to schedule regular dental visits?

Scheduling dental check-ups and cleanings every six months, or twice a year, is necessary for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.  We’ll use digital x-rays to get a closer look at your oral health and thoroughly examine your entire mouth. This allows us to detect any possible issues before they develop and require a more invasive course of action.  Together, we’ll ensure your smile is in excellent condition and will last for years to come.

As a precautionary measure, our practice offers fast and easy oral cancer screenings during your regular check-up. This screening includes a thorough examination of your gums, cheeks, throat, tongue, and neck for signs of abnormal or cancerous growths Detecting oral cancer early on can significantly increase the chances of effective and successful treatment, as well as a positive outcome.
