Good news for Denture Wearers

June 13, 2016Richard GrubbDental implants

iStock_000015232111SmallGetting a whole new set of teeth in the form of a denture, a row of teeth set in a plastic palate positioned at the roof of your oral cavity very often means the end of misery experienced with natural teeth caused by a variety of causes. But dentures are often too loose to allow chewing foods comfortably, they can cause pain, and can diminish the enjoyment of your favorite foods.
The good news is: You don’t have to put up with this for the rest of your life!!!

You are lucky to be alive today and thus able to benefit from the latest innovations of Implant Dentistry and don’t need to look back to the “good old days” when all of your natural teeth were intact. Today’ dentistry delivered by dentists with advanced training with the placement and restoration of implants like Dr. Grubb in Havre de Grace can alleviate the problems associated with dentures. In order to determine how soon you can have your life back, a CT-scan taken at Dr. Grubb’s office as part of the initial examination will reveal whether you are a good candidate for dental implants. The goal is to place 4-6 implants (artificial roots made of titanium) in the jawbone which will ultimately hold your new set of teeth in place without the irritating plastic palate at the roof of your mouth making your life miserable. The implants will be holding your teeth in place instead of the suction created by a full denture and your palate. You will find it easier to speak and you won’t have to worry about your denture becoming loose and a source of embarrassment, and best of all, you can now eat and enjoy foods again you were not able to eat before.

For more information, schedule a free consultation with Dr. Grubb, who has over 30 years of experience with placing and restoring dental implants and is one of only four Maryland dentists board certified in implant dentistry, call his office at 410-939-5800.
